Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital site

Location: 330 Gray’s Inn Road (and fronting Swinton Street and Wicklow Street), London WC1X 8DA

You can see a recording of the DMF here.

Demolition of the buildings on-site, with partial retention of the 330 Gray’s Inn Road building, and erection of 5 buildings to provide a mixed-use development including a hotel, restaurant, gymnasium, offices and housing (including affordable housing (35% by habitable room)).

The hotel (5-13 storeys) includes 190 rooms and would have a café and restaurant.

The office building (9 storeys) would include employment space with an element of affordable workspace.

73 residential units are proposed over two blocks, one facing Swinton Street (6 storeys) which will provide affordable homes and one on Wicklow Street (12 storeys) providing private homes.  The housing will have a shared central garden space as well as private amenity space.

The proposals include a basement underneath the majority of the site, the creation of public routes through the site (between Gray’s Inn Road and Wicklow Street and Swinton Street and Wicklow Street), and a public open space adjacent to Wicklow Street.
